Pre-Juvenile Ballet Award (Primary 1)

Arrive at the hall no later than 1.15pm

Exam time: 2.00pm or 2.15pm 

 

Preparatory Ballet (Primary 2)

Arrive at the hall no later than 1.45pm

Exam time: 2.30pm or 2.45pm

 

Primary Ballet (Middle 2a)

Arrive at the hall no later than 2.15pm

Exam time: 3.00pm or 3.15pm

 

One Dance Freestyle (Primary 2)

Arrive at the hall no later than 2.45pm

Exam time: 3.30pm or 3.35pm


One Dance Freestyle (Middle 2b)

Arrive at the hall no later than 2.55pm

Exam time: 3.40pm


Primary Tap (Middle 2a)

Arrive at the hall no later than 3.00pm

Exam time: 3.45pm or 4.00pm

 

One Dance Freestyle (Middle 1)

Arrive at the hall no later than 3.30pm

Exam time: 4.15pm or 4.20pm

 

Grade 1 Tap (Middle 3a)

Arrive at the hall no later than 3.45pm

Exam time: 4.30pm, 4.45pm or 5.00pm

 

Grade 2 Tap

Arrive at the hall no later than 4.30pm

Exam time: 5.15pm

 

Grade 1 Tap (Class assessment)

Arrive at the hall no later than 4.50pm

Examinations

Q. Are all students selected to take an exam when there is an exam session?

A. No. Only students that are ready to take an exam will be selected to take part in an examination session.

 

Q. What time is my exam?

A. You will be notified of your exam time as soon as it is available and is confirmed by the IDTA.

 

Q. What is the fee for my exam?

A. You will be notified of your exam fee as soon as it is available and is confirmed by the IDTA.


Q. What time should I get to the hall?

A. Please arrive at the hall at least 45 minutes before the exam time given. This is to prepare for your exam, and means that you are ready if the exam session is running early.


Q. What should I do when I get to the hall?

A. DO NOT use the main entrance or exit doors - these will be closed. You should go to the secondary entrance at the left hand side of the main hall. Turn left and follow the corridor to the end hall. Do not go to the main hall - this is where the examinations are held and your child will be taken there at their appropriate exam time.

Each student should be accompanied by ONE ADULT ONLY. Adults must wear a face covering.


Q. What do I need to wear?

A. Girls pre-juvenile and preparatory ballet exams: Pink leotard, skirt, pink ballet socks and ballet shoes.

Girls primary ballet exams: Black leotard, skirt, pink ballet socks and ballet shoes.

Girls grade 4 ballet exams: Black crossover leotard, pink ballet tights and ballet shoes.
Boys preparatory and primary ballet and tap exams: Plain black cycle shorts (no logos), plain round-neck white t-shirt (no logos), white ballet socks and black ballet shoes.
Girls preparatory tap exams: Pink leotard, skirt, pink ballet socks and black tap shoes.

Girls primary tap exams: Black leotard, skirt, pink ballet socks and tap shoes.

Girls one dance freestyle exams: Leotard, sequin skirt (will be loaned to student on the exam day), bare legs, pink ballet shoes, no socks. No nail polish.

Boys one dance freestyle exams: Plain black cycle shorts (no logos), plain round-neck white t-shirt (no logos), white ballet socks and black ballet shoes.
Girls Grade 1 tap exams: Black ruched front leotard, plain black leggings (no logos), black ankle socks (not trainer socks) and black tap shoes.

Girls Grade 4 tap exams:

Black crossover leotard, plain black leggings (no logos), black ankle socks (not trainer socks) and black tap shoes.


Q. How does my hair need to be?

A. Ideally, please arrive ready for the exams with girls long hair dressed in a bun in the middle of the back of the head (using a fine hair net to match the colour of own hair). No fringe unless it is cut above the eyebrows.

Please ensure you have your own hairbrush, pins, hairspray and bun net.

Your hair will be checked and adjusted by the school's teachers if necessary.


Q. Should I wear any make up?

A. No. Make up is not permitted for examinations. Nail polish should NOT be worn on hands or feet.


Q. When will I receive my exam result?

A. You will receive your exam result, certificate and award in due course, when they have been sent through from the IDTA.
